"The Gallands" is a brand new project featuring a father (Stéphane Galland) on drums and a son (Elvin Galland) on keyboards. Stéphane is one of Belgium’s finest drummers, known for cofounding Aka Moon and collabs with Ibrahim Maalouf, Marcus Miller, and many others. Elvin is a gifted Keyboard player who founded ELEVEN with his twin sister and has worked alongside Le 77, Damso, Jean Jass, Peet & many others.
For the first time, due to the confinement measures in their country, father and son found the time and the ideal opportunity to create and record music together. The result is a blend of two vast, wide and rich musical worlds that merge into a unique sound result that mixes Hip-Hop, Jazz, R'n'B, Electro, Pop, Breakbeat and Funk. Their repertoire of originals is nourished by what they like most: Groove, trippy chord progressions, a mix of acoustic and electronic sounds, some blazing, punchy rhythms and cinematic atmospheres.
